Fiddle 2

Senga MacDonald

Senga is a fiddler and dance caller. A founder member of Hogtie Ceilidh Band around 20 years ago, she now plays piano with Ceilidh Fling. Coming from a classical background, singing and playing piano as a child and teenager, she didn't pursue her family influences in traditional Scottish music until later in life. Senga followed a career in social work, before managing a local charity and later worked at RGU School of Social Studies, developing practice learning. She has been actively involved in SC&T over the last few years, both as a participant and Board member. Senga learned to play the fiddle as an adult, and was determined to develop her ability to play by ear, pursuing this through her participation in many workshops and festivals across Scotland and abroad. She now participates actively in the session scene in Aberdeen. Class Description: Fiddle 2 Tuition in class will be by ear with music provided afterwards to support practice at home.
