FAQ

  • How do I sign up to the SC&T Classes?

    1. Sign up for your class. (there are lots to choose from!) If you've not used Thinkific before, you'll be asked to create a new account - keep those login details somewhere safe. 2. Start your course to complete Registration & Download the Information Document containing relevant information. 3. Get EXCITED for the term to start and tell all your friends and family about it!

  • Why does my course have 15 lessons?

There are currently 4 Welcome and Registration lessons and 10 lessons for each week of term and one lesson for the Common Tunes. This is still only 10 weeks of term, don't worry!

  • How much do the SC&T Classes Cost?

The SC&T Weekly classes cost £10 per class. This can be paid in one lump sum (£105) or in 3 monthly instalments (£35). If you are unable to pay this but would love to be involved, please get in touch at [email protected]. We also offer a student discount of 20% - please get in touch for a coupon for your dicount.

  • Where can I find the Zoom Details if I'm doing an online course?

These will be emailed to you before your class starts. Remember to download the information document which has everything you need to know about the term: Find and start your instrument course. You'll be asked to complete a few registration questions. Once Completed, you'll be taken to the next lesson which will be the Information document. You'll see a downloadable PDF document with everything you need for the classes. If you've already completed registration and are looking for the info document, log into your Thinkific account using the sign in button at the top right hand corner. Resume your instrument choice course and find the lesson called Information document - you'll be able to download the document again.

  • I've already taken part in a SC&T class, can I take part again?

Yes! Our tutors are ready with new material to teach you this term, so everyone is welcome, whether you're just joining us or returning for another term.

  • Some classes say 'online', 'Live online option', or 'online option' - what does this mean?

Totally online - We have 2 classes this term which are totally online - melody online and accompaniment online. These will be held over zoom and no participants will meet in person. Live online option - there are 2 classes which are going to have an option of joining the class virtually through a live zoom link. The participant will be able to see the tutor live during the lesson and have an opportunity to interact with the tutor and class during the evening. The classes running this option are Whistle 1/2 and Flute. These classes will also be recorded and uploaded to Thinkific at the end of each lesson so can be watched back at a later date. Recorded online option - this is where the tutor shall record the lesson in their class and then upload the recording that evening to Thinkific. There won't be the live element of the online option, it will just be to watch back the recorded lesson at a time that suits you.

  • The classes have numbers after them - what does this mean?

If a class doesn't have a number next to it, it means all players are welcome but a level of experience is recommended and it isn't suitable for total beginners. 0 - Total beginner 1 - Beginner (with a little experience) 2 - Intermediate 3 - Advanced

  • I have another question

Email us at [email protected] or send a message to our facebook page - @ScottishCultureandTraditions-SC&T

  • What are the common tunes for?

It is for everyone to have a go at in their own time then come together at the end of term concert and all have a go at it together!
